Questions

  1. The Compaction Compartment Lid will not open

  2. The Foot Pedal cannot be pushed down to crush

1. The Compaction Compartment Lid will not open

Possible Cause

  • The Compaction Compartment Lid Child Safety Lock is engaged

  • The Compaction Compartment Lid Pedal Lock is engaged

Solution

  • Slide the Child Safety Lock towards the front of the unit to disengage.

  • Ensure that the Foot Pedal is in its full upright position.

2. The Foot Pedal cannot be pushed down to crush

Possible Cause

The Compaction Compartment Lid was inadvertently left open, engaging the Crusher Plates Safety Lock

Solution

Release Foot Pedal, close Compaction Compartment Lid, and try again.

3. Crushed item got caught while falling down the chute or in the Drop Door

Possible Cause

Item was not thoroughly crushed

Solution

Option 1: Repeat crushing until item drops down. By holding each crush for a few seconds, crushing will be maximized.

Option 2: Once Foot Pedal is back in the up position open the lid, and with one hand hold down the Drop Door while pushing the item down the chute.

4. Paper door will not open

Possible Cause

Paper Bin might have been overfilled and paper is getting caught, not allowing door to open.

Solution

Remove the Rear Bin. Reach inside and pull out the excess paper. The Paper door should now open.

5. Bins were emptied but the LCD did not go back to "LO"

Possible Cause

Your Bins may need to be recalibrated

Solution

To recalibrate your empty bins, push the Reset Button under the LCD with a push pin for 1-5 seconds.

6. Alarm does not go off

Possible Cause

  • Alarm is not set

  • Alarm is set for every other week

Solution

  • Ensure the Alarm Bell is visible. If it is not visible, reset the Alarm Bell (see page 15).

  • Ensure correct selection appears on screen, “1” for every week, “2” for every two weeks.

7. Items have been recycled but LCD reads "LO"

Possible Cause

  • You have not reached minimum of one-half pound

  • Your bins may need to be recalibrated

Solution

More recycling is needed. Continue to recycle and the more than one-half pound weight will appear.

If you are certain you have more than one-half pound in the unit, you may need to recalibrate the Bins. Empty the Bins and replace them back into the unit. Push the Reset Button under the LCD with a push pin for 1-5 seconds.

8. The LCD Screen does not turn on

Possible Cause

Batteries are dead

Solution

Replace batteries.

Possible Cause

Battery power is getting low
